Chatman The New Starting RB

Posted on 2007-Oct-24 at 08:32 - Post Comment

With Ronnie Brown now out for the year, Jesse Chatman will take over running back duties in Miami. He was surprisingly effective against New England after Brown went down, gaining 73 yards on 7 carries, and has 117 yards on 20 carries all year, giving him a robust 5.9 yards per carry average. The good news is that he had 392 rushing yards on 65 carries (6.0 yards per carry average) with San Diego in 2004. The bad news is that was the last time he has played football before this year. There are a lot of unknowns, but Ronnie Brown was having a great year before his injury so maybe the scheme will continue to benefit Chatman. Due to the lack of starting running backs available, he should be scooped up right away, but DO NOT play him against these remaining teams on his schedule: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore & New England.
